Are gay men technically considered virgins?

Unlike lesbians, gay men can't "fake" sex . Either the member downstairs works, or it doesn't! That being said, is a gay person who hasn't had sex in the traditional sense considered a virgin? Or does the... backdoor count as sex nowadays?
